Grey Goo Pennies

The Grey Goo Pennies are a meta game that is played in the Gatorbox Twitch channel. They are a Cola Tabs award that starts at 1 tab at the beginning of the year. Every time the pennies are redeemed they are "claimed" by a viewer and their price doubles. The early redemptions are inexpensive (1, 2, 4, 8, etc.) however they quickly balloon out of control and become massive, a reference to the science fiction trope of "grey goo" which is a self-replicating mass that is able to increase at an exponential rate and creates an existential planetary crisis. Once the price of the pennies exceeds 100,000 tabs they automatically come with a VIP chat badge, since a VIP badge by itself costs 100,000 tabs. Whoever has claimed the Grey Goo Pennies by the end of the year is crowned the "winner" of the meta game and on January 1st of the following year the pennies are reset back to 1 and the game starts over again.
