Draco's DarksydePhil impression was retired the same day it debuted, however the fake goatee that he wore during the 2014 remained inside the top drawer of the coffee table that has been part of the Gatorbox set since the show's beginning. Occasionally he'd take it out of the drawer, hold it up to his face, and say something in the spirit of Phil while doing the same voice. Phillip Burnell, better known online as DarksydePhil or DSP, is an internet personality known primarily for streaming video games and uploading let's plays of them to YouTube. He achieved a moderate level of success on YouTube during the platform's early years primarily due to a persistent upload schedule of multiple videos a day for a number of video games. He was also one of the first people to partner with talent agency Machinima in order to legitimately monetize his gaming content on YouTube, something that standard users were not able to do.
Phil is very notorious for his profound lack of skill at virtually every single game he's ever played leading for many of his trolls ("detractors") to create a series of videos that has collectively become known as "This is How You DON'T Play" (TIHYDP). Following Phil's stream of Rare Replay in 2015, Draco took it upon himself to create one such video of his own, "This is How You DON'T Play Blast Corps" that was uploaded to his now-deleted personal channel. (It has since been reuploaded to COLA Incorporated.)
2014 Appearance
In 2014, Draco performed in-character as an exaggerated caricature of DarksydePhil for an entire Friday night stream. In that stream Draco wore a fake goatee made of velcro and a large cowboy-style hat similar to one that Phil had worn in several photos. Draco also talked in a very deadpan and nasally voice which wasn't meant to be a direct impression of Phil but rather any voice different than Draco's own (Draco went on to use this same impression in 2025 when he portrayed Game Man for an April Fool's Day video). The game played during that stream was Kingdom Hearts 2, a reference to the fact that Phil had refused to play that game despite being asked by "fans" multiple times. During the stream Draco maintained his portrayal of Phil while a second guest co-hosted the stream and was introduced as the "Machinima intern" that was sent to Phil's house to play the games for him.
Unfortunately, due to issues outside of the production team's control, this stream is no longer viewable. Highlights from the broadcast included Draco (as Phil) suggesting the intern play the Little Mermaid level instead of the Mulan one because "Mulan has bugged eye mechanics", a remark that merged Phil's common complaint of "bugged mechanics" with the aesthetic difference of Asian facial features and the fact that Phil has been known to make off-handed remarks that could be considered racist. At one point Rockyowitz handed Draco a can of Arizona tea which he proceeded to open in such a way that he ripped the pop tab and tongue of the can off causing a fair amount of the tea to spill out of the can in the process. Draco shouted out "oh god damn it this can is bugged" in a frustrated voice but accidentally broke character when Rocky started laughing too hard off camera. Rocky asked what had just happened and Draco (out of character) responded "I just wanted to open the can like an asshole".
The resulting recap video from this stream was shared to the Kiwi Farms a few days after it was uploaded resulting in the channel receiving a nominal amount of new viewers coming over from that community, a couple of whom as of 2025 still actively watch and participate in Gatorbox's community to this day.
2024 Appearance
Draco's DarksydePhil impression was retired the same day it debuted, however the fake goatee that he wore during the 2014 remained inside the top drawer of the coffee table that has been part of the Gatorbox set since the show's beginning. Occasionally he'd take it out of the drawer, hold it up to his face, and say something in the spirit of Phil while doing the same voice. It was not until the show's 2024 season that the DarksydePhil character would return for another official broadcast complete with the same cowboy hat from 2014. The game in question was The Detractor, a PC game released on Steam that was made specifically to mock Phil and featured quotes and references from his entire body of work. Due to issues over likeness rights (the developers did not get permission from Phil to use his likeness or voice in the game) The Detractor was pulled from Steam, however Draco was able to obtain a copy of it due to being gifted it by a viewer before its banning.
Once again Draco performed the impression for the entire stream and even went as far as to make a complete 1:1 copy of Phil's own stream layout for the occasion marking the only time in the history of Gatorbox that the standard "Gatorbox Classic" stream layout has not been used for a Friday night show. In-character Draco approached the game with ambivalence with Phil not being fully aware the game is about him. Draco also pretended to know next to nothing about "Gatorbox" and spoke about himself in the third person saying things like "all I know about that Draco guy is he brags about his hot girlfriend all the time".
