Articles of Conflagration is an upcoming Gatorbox show that is currently in its pre-production phase. It is a comedy show recorded offline hosted by Draco where he reads and performs articles published by Twilight Foundry from their archives. The name of the show is a reference to the United States' Articles of Confederation with wordplay referencing "conflagration" (a massive fire) as an homage to Roastmaster whose work is predominately featured in the series.
Draco was inspired to make the series after reading several of the articles he wrote for RFSHQ between 2004 and 2008 on the air as part of the RFSHQ 20th Anniversary stream held on May 10, 2024. Articles of Conflagration is the first Gatorbox series aside from the main stream itself to debut with a dedicated set. (The 100 Best Games of All Time has its own set as well, however that series was still in the writing stage when Articles of Conflagration premiered.)
Format
Draco welcomes viewers to each episode following the opening credits and introduces the subject of what's ahead in a few sentences. Before the content starts Draco gets up from his desk to take viewers to the "Context Corner" where he provides some insight into "the way things were in the world" when the article to be featured was written. Because most of the episodes pertain to things written upwards of a decade ago or more this segment helps prime the viewer for some of the content which may have become dated in the years following its original publication. Draco returns to the main set to sit back down and perform the selected article. In a given episode of Articles of Conflagration the majority of the featured article is left intact with only nominal changes being made to clarify tone of voice or perspective. Draco acts as the author for every article using first person pronouns to refer to himself even if he was not the original author of the article in the episode. This is done to avoid confusion as relaying an entire story in a third person perspective proved to be difficult to follow in test recordings.
