Cassette Roulette
Cassette Roulette is a recurring feature of GatorUNbox that started in the 2021 season of Gatorbox. In a given feature of Cassette Roulette, Draco will select ten tapes from his collection of obscure and fringe media and place atop them ten playing cards ordered from A-10. Draco then has another run of A-10 in a different suit in his hand and will choose a face-down card at random. The tape corresponding to the value of that card is then looked at and played. The process is repeated two more times for a total of three tapes per feature. The deck of cards used is a promotional one themed after Dead or Alive Xtreme, the notorious volleyball game released for the Xbox and Xbox 360. The deck was sent in by Ghost of Cerberus in a previous Viewer Mail segment many years prior. The running gag with the deck of cards is that the two characters featured on the face sides are the only two in the deck that are canonically at least 18 years old.
Draco has gone through multiple tape players throughout the history of the Roulette feature, usually using a different one every single time with varying degrees of success. The Sony Cassette Corder seen in the first installment was loaned out afterward and returned broken with Draco unable to fix it. He then made an attempt to purchase another Cassette Corder of that exact model -- two of them -- but neither one worked. He attempted to use a small boombox to play tapes, however after its first use it too stopped working. Zahando sent a used cassette Walkman to the show's PO box which needed some work and replacement belts before it would function, but it died part way through one of the features. When Cassette Roulette was given its fourth feature at the start of 2025 Draco had gone to an electronics surplus store and bought a recently manufactured copycat Walkman and external speaker. Thus far, the copycat Walkman seems to work.
Often times Draco will pull a tape that doesn't have an existing archive online. These tapes get digitized in Draco's free time and are uploaded in full to the COLA Incorporated secondary channel on YouTube.
