Pooptown

Pooptown is a name commonly used for save games, characters, and places in the games that are streamed on Gatorbox. In the event of a character being named if there's enough space the companion name Pooptown Jones might also be used. The meme made its debut while streaming Raw Danger when the protagonist was named Pooptown Jones for seemingly no apparent reason despite Draco's amusement with it. He would later go on to explain the meaning of the term in an After Hours video titled The Legend of Pooptown.

Pooptown is one of the longest-running memes in the channel's history as it's still used to this day in various forms. In games where names are restricted to less than 8 characters it's not uncommon to see Draco shoot for "PTown" as a name. During the five-part Angels With Scaly Wings stream Draco named the player character "P.T. Jones" because the full name was just barely too long.

History

Pooptown's origin can be traced back to the game Roblox where in the early 2010's Draco and FPS Reflex would grief peoples' maps by way of an annoying asset they'd made that when dropped on another player would cause them to start falling through dozens of sound effect triggers only to be teleported back to the top of it at the end of their fall. Because Roblox did not prioritize sound effects at the time the game would simply try to play all of the sound effects at the same time. This would almost always result in a game crash and the player logging out of the map. This asset was first built and tested on Draco's personal map where he'd built a giant sign in the distance that read "Big Time Doo Doo Land", however he noted that due to the game's low resolution and draw distance it was hard to read the sign; he changed the letters to bigger ones that spelled out "Pooptown" and left it at that.

Known as "the Pooptown item", Draco and Reflex's prank asset would eventually be patched out of the game in a fix by the Roblox developers as part of a larger update that fixed a number of known bugs and exploits. This update rendered the Pooptown asset ineffective as it would no longer cause game clients to overload and freeze.

Years later in 2015 when thinking of a name for the main character in Raw Danger, Draco decided to name him "Pooptown Jones" as a reference to the Roblox griefing he and his brother carried out a half decade prior. He was later asked about the name during a stream of Ice Road Truckers wherein Draco stopped the game to briefly tell the story and history behind the name.
